Biodiesel is a clean-burning sustainable diesel fuel substitute. It is renewable, biodegradable, non-toxic and environmentally friendly and provides engine lubricity improvements while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Renewable: its renewability is 84.6%.
Higher Cetane Number: the cetane number of biodiesel is generally between 46 and 60, whereas that of petro diesel is only around 40 to 45.
Cleaner Burning Biodiesel: emissions are significantly lower compared to diesel fuel.
Nontoxic Biodiesel:is less toxic than table salt. There are several studies evluating biodiesel and diesel toxicity in terresterial and aquatic animals.
Environmentally Friendly: use of biodiesel instead of regular diesel reduces the greenhouse gas over 80%. A biofuel that reduces the greenhouse gas by 50% or more is called advanced biofuel.
Adds to fuel lubricity: even 1% of biodiesel adds enough lubricity in fuel and enhances engine performance and life.
Interchangeability: NO modification is needed on engine. Biodiesel blends up to 5% meets the same specifications as diesel fuel.
